help

On these sites you engage on the issues of climate, peace, poverty or wildlife conservation.

It's very easy for people to get involved - they can write what they have to offer, or what they are in need of. Please sign up first.

We're keeping this site really simple

To join a conversation all you need do is signup. You will then be able to change your page design, say, use your own background image, and upload your picture in your profile. Visit anyone's profile by clicking on their username at the beginning of their post.

It would be useful to see where you are in the world. Please set a city/location in your profile. We've included all 194 countries in the world.

Friends and Followers

You can

- add friends to 'follow'
- 'follow' someone

All these people can be seen on your page, and you can remove any at any time.

Replies

Reply to anyone by starting a post with '@' and the username (no space), for example: @greg - this will show up as a reply in your post.

Pictures in your Posts

You can add a picture to your post, but please keep it under 50kb.

Posting from other sites

You can post from other sites that you may use. See here.

The nature of this site is to encourage conversation, so we only take the first 1000 characters from your original post. Links are also taken.

How are we going to pay for this?

Through a mixture of sponsorship and donations. We are not registered as a charity.

Other stuff

There is a currently a limit of 500 characters on your post on this site. If this is a problem we can increase it. We hope to be adding Instant Messenger and SMS capability in time.

Application Programming Interface

We have the beginnings of an Application Programming Interface so you can access the data on this site for your own purposes. We suggest you use Google's Open Social API so whatever you write can be ported to other sites.
